About The Football Development Centre
The Football Development Centre and Academy Schools began in 2005 and now hold over 400 players in our Centre. These centres are primarily for children showing a keen interest in developing their football skills. Ultimately the idea is to reach the standard required to join our Academy Level/MJPL teams as of October 2021 the elite players will have an opportunity to go in to Aston Villa Academy.
See our big announcement here.
2019 has seen a re-structure within our centre, aligning all weekly services under one umbrella; The Progress Pyramid. We pride ourselves on offering sessions for all ages and abilities that give clear progression and development for each individual player.
All of our sessions (excluding the School Sports Programme) are held at 3 elite venues
Studley Sports Centre 3G, Abbeyfields Drive, Studley B80 7BF.
Sixways Stadium, Warriors Way, Worcester WR3 8ZE.
The Hayes, Redhill Road, Birmingham B38 9EL.
Our Aims
The overall aim of the Football Development Centre is to work on technique, speed, agility, and quickness sessions progressing finally onto team play.
This is done through a monthly syllabus and our FDC Core Skills Programme which is designed to enhance your child’s natural ability whilst working to a technical program.
Throughout the year your child will cover all aspects of the game as well as having the opportunity to play against other players on a regular basis.
FDC PROGRESS PYRAMID
Our Football Development Centre Progress Pyramid model gives players and parents a clear visual representation of the services we offer and an easy to understand diagram of how our players progress through the system.
We offer a wide variety of football activities throughout the week, catering for all abilities and ages up to 16 years old.
